CodeFocus · Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Short version: CodeFocus collects nothing. No account, no servers, no analytics, no tracking, no ads. Your data stays on your devices.

What we don't collect

CodeFocus has no user accounts and no backend servers. We do not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising, and no third-party tracking in the app.

App selection & Screen Time

The apps you choose to block are handled entirely by Apple's Screen Time (FamilyControls / ManagedSettings) framework. This information stays on your device, is managed by iOS, and is never sent to us or anyone else. We never see which apps you block.

Bluetooth

CodeFocus uses Bluetooth only to detect, locally, whether your own paired Mac is running an AI coding agent. The only thing exchanged between your Mac and your iPhone is a single on/off signal ("active" or "idle"), device-to-device. No content, no messages, and no personal data are transmitted, and nothing is uploaded anywhere.

The Mac helper

The optional Mac helper is a script you install yourself. It reads a local status file indicating whether your coding agent is currently working and broadcasts the single on/off signal over Bluetooth to your paired iPhone. It does not read your code, your files, your prompts, or your terminal output, and it sends nothing to the internet.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details. Apple may provide us anonymized, aggregate sales information; this is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

Children

CodeFocus is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
